Performance Portability

Abstract

Tom Deakin from Bristol University will talk about the techniques involved in making sure your applications are portable across many HPC systems. This is crucial, because what works great on your own HPC cluster in your lab might not work so well in an unfamiliar environment, and generally you can’t control the cluster your code is going to land on. Writing code that is popular means meeting this challenge head-on. As with all the informational talks, this talk is intended to help you learn more about these amazing tools from the experts that create them. You might learn something immediately useful in the event, but our genuine hope is that you’ll learn something that’ll help you in the future in your career so you can keep contributing to this community.
